Eildon Reserves Redevelopment project by Murrindindi Shire Council aims to revitalize the public tourism infrastructure in Eildon. The deliberative engagement process involved a representative panel to decide on the sale of land to support the project. With 87% of the panel members voting to proceed with the sale, the Council is now progressing with preparing the land for sale and contract negotiations.

Background Eildon Reserves Redevelopment Revitalisation and economic development Strengthen Eildon s public tourism infrastructure A catalyst investment to encourage / drive other investment Health and Wellbeing outcomes Project deliverables include: Regional splash park and playground, toilets/change rooms including changing places, picnic shelter, senior play space and skate park. Valued at approximately $6M pretender Funding strategy included the proposal to sell two underutilised land parcels in Eildon Inconclusive and mixed feedback from community consultation on this proposal Prior community engagement between 2019-2022 Recreation strategy, Reserves Improvement Plan, Concept and Final design. Lake Eildon Master Plan and Community Planning

Deliberative program overview Procured support from specialist consultant to facilitate transparency and manage process with panel members Recruited representative panel with 25 community members Principles of engagement and decision making criteria workshopped Hosted 3 deliberative panel sessions, supported by Council subject experts Outcome to support decision making on final project scope for redevelopment Option 1: Proceed with sale of land to support project delivery within current scope, including considerations for new use opportunities if sold Option 2: Do not progress with the sale of land, project does not proceed or does proceed at a reduced scale with fewer benefits Pros and cons of each option reviewed, workshopped and debated Council to support community recommendation if 80% support achieved
