Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design hosted the Junior kNight event on February 8th, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The event included discussions on student accomplishments, helpful resources for students and parents, connections with counselors, career development opportunities, senior picture schedules, college advising services, and advice for junior year planning towards college and career readiness.

Career Development Coordinator Mrs. Sonya Meeks- @cdc_khscd The CDC assists students in making the connection from School to Work by ensuring that your student hears, sees, and/or experiences the post secondary career they are most interested in. This only works when the student takes advantage of the available services which include but are not limited to the following: Career Interest Inventories (Go Center) Resume Writing and Job Applications (Go Center) Classroom Speakers Lunch and Learn Series Career/College Fairs Professional Panels Job shadowing Internships Site Based Learning Experiences (Field Trips)

  6. Senior Pictures Class of 2019 Schedule your appointment NOW, for over the summer. (919) 571-0075 Only ONE school opportunity to take if not taken over the summer. MUST be photographed by September 29th to be included in the yearbook. There is a $15 sitting fee whether you take them at school or at the studio.

  8. Advice for Junior Year Review your academic plan with your counselor. Use CFNC.org and other resources to find free practice tests for the SAT/ACT. Check admissions requirements of colleges that interest you. Attend college fairs and financial aid workshops. Visit colleges. Start researching scholarships, grants, and loans using CFNC.org Find a summer job or internship in your field of interest. (contact our CDC, Ms. Meeks) Register for the SAT/ACT. Take rigorous courses senior year (AP=1.0 weighted GPA, Honors=.5 weighted GPA) Talk with coaches about college sports and scholarship eligibility. Forms available in Student Services. When you register for the exam and up to a certain point after the exam, sending you score is FREE for up to 4 schools.
