  2. Cool Aeronautics

  3. Primary Schools It s never too soon to start learning more about what careers are out there and we have a number of activities aimed at primary schools and children: Amy s Aviation is our radio and Youtube series produced in partnership with Fun Kids Radio based around character Amy who loves planes and flying. Join Amy over three series as she learns about all aspects of aerospace engineering from paper planes to aircraft engines and satellites, to learning to fly and the history of British aerospace. All episodes are available to download free of charge or view online for free and can be used in classroom whiteboards. You can find this HERE! Cool Aeronautics is our flagship outreach programme for primary schools, sponsored by AAR. One-day events take place across the UK and beyond introducing children and teachers to the world of aerospace and aviation through inspiring talks from professionals, drama performances, interactive STEM workshops and more. To find out about events near you, please get in touch. Reach for the Sky is a booklet for children produced by the Yorkshire Air Museum in partnership with the Royal Aeronautical Society. Featuring the history of aircraft design, colouring-in and puzzles, it s a great way to learn more about aerospace. For more information, visit our ages 6-11 pages.

  4. Project Altitude

  5. Secondary Schools Project Altitude: The RAeS Project Altitude programme is funded by Boeing UK and is our outreach programme for Secondary Schools across the UK. These events are run to inspire students on their career choices and we invite speakers who are working in the industry to give a talk to our groups of students. We also conduct STEM based activities for the students throughout the event. This programme gives high schoolers the opportunity to explore the Aerospace sector in further detail and learn about all the different career paths that are on offer. Careers in Aerospace & Aviation LIVE: For students interested in apprenticeship routes, aerospace employers are known for providing high quality apprenticeships at Craft, Advanced, Higher and Degree levels. Our annual recruitment fair offers young people the chance to talk directly to employers about their opportunities and is free to attend. For more Secondary School information, head here.

  6. About Falcon 2 Falcon 2 is a dynamic STEM challenge for schools, colleges, and youth groups to design and build a real-life mobile flight simulator. The programme provides a learning platform as well as increasing disability awareness. For many people, the opportunity to fly a plane may seem impossible, particularly to those with disabilities, both visible and invisible. We would like to open these experiences to many more people and need your help! Young people (ages 6-19) are invited to contribute their creativity, innovation, and engineering skills to design, develop and build an accessible mobile flight simulator. This is an exciting opportunity for underrepresented groups, especially students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to collaborate with their peers to address accessibility issues.
