CS + X GLASSDOOR/INDEED ACTIVITY CS + X GLASSDOOR/INDEED ACTIVITY ACTIVITY USES ACTIVITY USES Classroom, small group, or individual. This lesson would be great in a career education class or as part of course selection activities. Activity Length: 45-50 minutes Materials: Phones or ipads TIPS: TIPS: Students can work alone, in pairs, or small groups. When students go to Glassdoor they have to sign up for an account using their email and a password. It is really easy and directions are included in the slides. You can also have them use Indeed. When they search for jobs they may not find the exact job listed in the activity but something similar will still allow them to put it in the correct career field location. Make sure students can access Jamboard prior to doing the activity. Here is the link to the JAMBOARD TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS for the teacher to review and set up. Then use this link to the JAMBOARD where it forces you to make a copy and save it as your own. Then you can make duplicates for each group of students and label them by group. The variable x can be anything from farming, to fashion, to healthcare, transportation, and much more! Think about how a computer program, app, or tool that could make someone s life easier. UP NEXT UP NEXT We are going to fill in a jamboard with jobs in different fields that require computer science. 1. The jobs will be scrambled around the board. 2. You need to figure out which 5 jobs go in each category. 3. You can use Glassdoor or Indeed to look up the jobs to see which category they fall under. When you get to Glassdoor: Click sign in at the top right of the page Click don t have an account and then sign up Use your email address and create a password
