UN Summit of the Future: UN Summit of the Future: Multilateral solutions for a Multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow better tomorrow The United Nations General Assembly: Decides that the Summit of the Future has an important role to play in reaffirming the Charter of the United Nations, reinvigorating multilateralism, boosting implementation of existing commitments, agreeing on concrete solutions to challenges and restoring trust among Member States; Further decides that the Summit will be held on 22 and 23 September 2024, in New York, preceded by a preparatory ministerial meeting to be held on 18 September 2023; UNGA Resolution A/RES/76/307 UNGA Resolution A/RES/76/307 Adopted 12 September 2022 Decides that the Summit will adopt a concise, action- oriented outcome document entitled A Pact for the Future , agreed in advance by consensus through intergovernmental negotiations.

Peace and Security consultations Objectives: a) Facilitate a broad discussion of the issues and initiatives relating to international peace and security, focusing on concrete proposals for adopting in the People s Pact for the Future and promoting to the New Agenda for Peace and Summit of the Future; b) Ensure that the mix of proposals includes some which could be supported by like-minded governments and adopted at the UN Summit (in the Pact for the Future), as well as some more innovative proposals which might find traction amongst civil society organizations in the short- term and could lead to government/UN action in the medium to long-term.
