8. BE PREPARED! Have your plans, visuals, activities, and materials ready to go. Practice giving your directions beforehand to make sure that they make sense! 11. GALLERY WALK A gallery walk is a great way to get everyone s thoughts on something in a way that is low risk for those not comfortable to share out in front of everyone. 14. DELIVERING YOUR ACTIVITIES 1. Say what activity you re doing. 2. Give your directions in a clear and concise way. (2-3 directions at most!) 3. Ask someone to repeat the directions so you know everyone understands what they re about to do. 4. Put yourself in a spot where you can help people get started. 17. DEBRIEFING Each activity should end with debriefing questions. That s how you know people are understanding what you re trying to share! In your handouts, there are TONS of stems for debriefing question. The highest levels of learning happen in the more challenging stages. Example: If you re doing a Parliamentary Procedure workshop, you could make it a live game of Candyland where delegates advance to different areas on a giant game board, just like in Candyland.
