  1. SBI Junior Associates Preliminary Test- 2018 Section II Reasoning Ability(35 questions, 35 marks and 20 minutes). Analogy:- Means similarity or having similar features. Example- i. Ocean : Pond :: Kilometer : Meter(Word Analogy) ii. ABCD : CDEF :: PQRS : RSTU(Letter Analogy), iii. 1234 : 2345 :: 3456 : 4567(Number Analogy) iv. ABCD : 1234 :: CDEF : 3456(Letter and Word Analogy)

  3. Classification:-Classification is a process of grouping various objects on the basis of their common properties. Classification is a general process related to categorization, the process in which ideas and objects are recognized, differentiated, and understood. Ex-Four of the following five are alike in some way forming a group. Which one does not belong to the group. March, January, July, June, May (Ans-June 30 days all others 31 days.) Word classification. 25-5, 16-4, 144-12, 64-7, 36-6 (Ans-64-7, others first one is square of second) Number classification. BY, LO, EW, GT,HS (Ans-EW, all others letter pairs are in exactly opposite positions in the alphabet of each other.) Alphabet classification.

  5. Coding Decoding:-Coding is a method of doing a secret message that can not be deciphered i.e according to to a certain pattern in the mind . If the meaning can be deciphered by third person carefully studying the pattern or analyzing the given code is called decoding. Ex- i. MAN is coded as NBO, then SKY is coded as TLZ (One letter ahead) Letter Coding. ii. In a given code SISTER is coded as 323451, UNCLE is coded as 67895 and SUN as 367 then RUSTIC is coded as? 163428.(Ans. Each letter coded as separate number) This is letter and number coding.

  7. Series:- Series consists of items having identical features. Series test is a type of aptitude test which require to find the missing or wrong number in the given sequence. Common feature to be identified. Ex- i. Letter based series. Find the missing number. AN, BO, CP, DQ, ? (Ans. ER) ii. Letter and number based series. Find the missing number. A2N, C4O, E6P, G8Q, ? (Ans. I10R, first digit is of difference two in alphabet, second digit is next even number and next one is, next to alphabet.)

  8. In following alphabet series , one term missing as shown by question mark (?). Choose missing term from options.: U, O, I, ?, A A. E B. C C. S D. G In the series 2, 6, 18, 54, ...... what will be the 8th term ?   9. Alphabet:- Questions based on English alphabets becomes very easy if we sense all alphabets from left to right in the form of numbers from 1 to 26. Ex. i. How many meaningful English words can be formed with the letter ATN, using each letter only once in each word? (Ans. Two, ANT and TAN.) ii. If the letters of the word OBSERVANT are interchanged, such that the first becomes ninth,second becomes eighth and so on and the position of the fifth letter remains unchanged then what will be the new arrangement of letters. Ans-THAVRESBO
