Stay on track with important reminders about behavior, punctuality, and using mobile phones in school. Also, mark your calendars with key dates for settling-in reports and other academic milestones.   1. YEAR 11 WELCOME BACK

  2. MAKING THE MOST OF THE TIME YOU HAVE LEFT As I said on the first day back, this year is one of the most important of your school career Time will be tight and in high demand in order to complete your GCSE courses Individual subjects will advise you of any alterations / allowances to their subject course Imagine that you are taking your 2 year GCSE course in 1 year; revisiting work from before lockdown alongside your lockdown work and Y11 work If you have any issues / problems, please talk to your teachers sooner rather than later

  3. REMINDER Morning Break You are NOT allowed off-site. Take it from now that if you are caught, you will get a 1 hour after school detention

  4. REMINDER Lunchtime You ARE allowed off-site for lunch Whilst out, please respect the wider community Litter should be placed in a bin Using local resident gardens as a short cut is NOT acceptable please correct this

  5. REMINDER Mobile Phones Phones should NOT be used in school, unless permission has been given by a teacher to aid learning in lessons Any video recordings of fights

  6. REMINDER Punctuality Arriving on-time to school is very important Late arrivals will be dealt with This includes to afternoon reg if you can t get back in on-time, we will withdraw your lunchtime privilege

  10. SETTLING-IN REPORTS COMPLETED 8THOCTOBER 2020 Subject teachers will have completed a snap-shot of how you have settled into your Year 11 studies Areas on which they have reported include:- Attitude to Learning Behaviour Independent Study Response to Feedback

  11. SETTLING-IN REPORTS ISSUED AROUND W/B 22NDOCTOBER

  12. ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING PRESENTATION EVENING 16THOCTOBER Our annual opportunity to celebrate the successes of Ramsey Grammar from the previous academic year

  13. NON-PUBLISHED COMMENTS DEADLINE 5THNOVEMBER Subject teachers will be completing comments about your progress that will be verbally shared with you and your parents during Student-led Academic Review Day

  14. OCTOBER HALF TERM MON 26THOCTOBER FRI 30THOCTOBER Half term holiday

  15. STUDENT-LED ACADEMIC REVIEW DAY 11THNOVEMBER An opportunity for families and students to meet with their form tutor to discuss generic progress across each of their subjects

  16. COLLEGE TASTER DAY 14THNOVEMBER Morning at the University College Isle of Man to give students the opportunity to trial various college courses to aid post-16 options This is a compulsory session, irrespective of whether or not you are thinking of attending College!

YEAR 11 MOCK EXAMS 2ND 11THDECEMBER An opportunity for students to demonstrate their ability at appropriate stages of their second year of GCSE s These should be taken as real GCSE s to give an accurate taste of what to expect in the summer Sometimes, mock exam results are called for by exam boards, if for some reason a student can t take their summer exam Your mock exams are in 10 weeks time!

  18. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS MON 21STDECEMBER MON 4THJANUARY Christmas Holidays Return on Tuesday 5thJanuary

  19. MOCK EXAM RESULTS 14THJANUARY Students will receive their GCSE mock exam results Results are based on a holistic view of each subject i.e. including coursework, if applicable etc.

  20. WHAT SHOULD YOU BE DOING? Establish a routine Frequently re-visit your class notes, particularly from Year 10 Establish a habit of revising, little and often Don t leave things to the last minute Seek help and support if you feel you need it Try your best to make the most of this opportunity!
