  2. Tuition Tuesdays What? Scholarship tips and College Reps- check FHS scholarship page to see who is visiting each week! Who? All Seniors (Juniors and Sophomores in the Spring) When? Every Tuesday during MAPS classes Where? Auditorium or Learning Stairs

  3. Why Scholarships? College is expensive! Average for 2022-2023 in Utah was $4,863 for in state tuition Free money that you don't have to pay back More $ for gas, food, housing, clothes, etc. More time to study and play Might not have to get a job or at least work part-time Networking and future job opportunities They look great on your resume!

  4. Where can I find scholarships? Farmington High School Scholarship Page: FHS Home> Parents & Students> Counseling Center > Scholarships https://fhs.davis.k12.ut.us/parents-students/counseling-center/scholarships Employment: Current and Future Google: Hobbies, talents, college major, family history, volunteer work, etc. Anything that you are passionate about, makes you unique, or makes you stand out!

Academic/Merit Scholarships Scholarships awarded based on GPA and test scores Index Chart Using GPA and ACT, can identify which scholarship you qualify for Example:https://www.weber.edu/FinancialAid/indexchart.html Every University has a different index chart so make sure to compare! Good incentive to increase GPA and ACT scores! Not every University awards scholarships based solely on academics.

  6. Which Utah Schools require an essay when applying? Westminster University Can choose to submit test scores or essay University of Utah Essay not required for admission, but part of the application and highly recommended in applying for scholarships BYU-Provo and BYU-Hawaii Essay required as part of the application process

  9. Other Scholarships Military Family member of someone who served in the past Commit to serve in the Military Athletic Regulated by NCAA FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid Government Scholarship

My College Scholarship Plan https://fhs.davis.k12.ut.us/parents-students/counseling-center/scholarships Under "Presentation Calendar and Info" select "My College Scholarship Plan" Top 3 Colleges Cumulative GPA and ACT scores Extracurricular Activities (sports,art,clubs,gov,etc) Community and Volunteer Experience (including jobs) Awards Received (no matter how small) Unique Talents or Qualities that make you stand out Letters of Recommendation (2)
