Semester exams do not fall under the redemption policy. Exemptions are based on the student s official attendance record maintained by the attendance office. GENERAL ATTENDANCE, BEHAVIOR, & GRADE CRITERIA (Per Class, Per Semester) Course Grade Average: 80 or above Absences: 3 or fewer Tardies: 6 or fewer Eligible Courses: High School Courses Grades 9-12 9

  10. Exam Exemption Students who have been placed into ISS (in-school suspension), OSS (out- of-school suspension), or DAEP are not eligible to be exempt from final exams. Students must meet the behavior, grade, and absence requirements to be eligible for the exemption in a class. Grades are cut off on the following to determine exemption status: Fall: W1 + W2 + Progress 3 Spring: W4+W5 + Progress 6 Students who have earned an exemption may take the semester exam to improve their semester grade. Semester grades will be the average of the three 6 weeks for that semester for exempt students Absences on the day of the exam count toward the exemption Students in Dual Credit courses will follow the higher education institution assessment/exam guidelines. 10

  11. Exams Exemption Please note that teachers are NOT allowed to give semester exams early. Your student must take his/her exam on the assigned date. If your student will be absent on exam day, please schedule a date and time with each teacher in May after the scheduled exam day. Again, no semester exams will be given early. Please keep in mind that the day of exams counts towards exemptions. If your student has 3 absences in a class and is absent on exam day (this makes absence #4), your student is no longer eligible for an exemption and will have to take exams in January for the Fall or June for the Spring. 11

No offensive language, sayings, nicknames, pictures or lyrics on cap No objects such as signs, stuffed animals, bells, or any 3D object may rest on the cap. ALL decorations MUST lay FLAT on the cap. Nothing can lay perpendicular thus allowing us to see the decoration beyond eye level. Your cap CANNOT make noise. No bells, horns, or anything that makes noise 29

  30. Appropriate items: Graduation Cap Thank a parent, grandparent, teacher Recognize the university you will be attending Flowers and bows are allowed but must lay flat on the cap. All CAP designs must have final approval by the building principal and will be approved on a case by case basis. Students, we highly suggest you trace your cap onto cardboard and decorate the cardboard. In case you make a mistake you can start over with a new piece of cardboard. We will not furnish new caps if you mess yours up decorating. After you decorate it, stick it to your cap with Velcro tape or Velcro stickers. Velcro tape can be purchased at any fabric store, Target, Walmart and throughout many CVS and Walgreens stores.
