  3. What do you mean by PI and 8.1.1? PI means Performance Indicator 9.1.1 means 9 means Class Nine, 1 means Competency 1 and last 1 means PI-1

  4. There are five competency and 21 PI in Class Nine

COMPETENCY -01 Ability to distinguish between facts and opinions PI- -9.1.1: Ss outline strategies to extract facts in a text PI 9.1.2 : ss outline strategies to extract the writer's opinions in a text PI 9.1.3 : ss distinguish facts and writer's opinions in a text. PI 9.1.4 : ss evaluate the writer's opinion regarding the topic

  6. Ability to devise tonality to maintain clarity of expression PI- -9.2.1: ss identify various tonality devices in a text PI 9.2.2 : ss analyze purpose of tonality devices in a text PI 9.2.3 : ss explain the mood of the text PI 9.2.4 : ss demonstrate the use of various tonality devices to express their thoughts and ideas.

  7. COMPETENCY -03 Ability to identify structures and organizations of different genres. PI- -9.3.1: Ss outline the structural and organizational features of the text. PI 9.3.2 : ss analyze the purposes of various genres PI 9.3.3 : ss compare and contrast the structural features PI 9.3.4 : Following the structural and organizational features ss produce different genres of the text.

  8. COMPETENCY -04 Ability to critically analyze and evaluate linguistic norms in accordance with power relation in a particular context. PI--9.4.1: ss outline various language features representing the power hierarchy in a particular context PI 9.4.2 : ss analyze the use of various language features representing the power hierarchy in particular cultural context. PI 9.4.3 : ss demonstrate the use of various strategies to neutralize the power hierarchy during conversations in a particular context.

  9. COMPETENCY -05 Ability to appreciate aesthetics in English literary text and to internalize aesthetic value in one's own articulation PI 9.5.1 : Following the literary features ss produce texts. PI 9.5.2 : Express their feelings and opinions about the literary texts. PI 9.5.3 : ss identify various stylistic features in literary texts PI 9.5.4 : Students analyze the purpose of stylistic features used in literary texts. PI 9.5.4 : SS express their feelings about the use of various stylistic features in literary text. PI 9.5.4 : Using various stylistic features students express their feelings.
