Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant Background The PHHS Block Grant (Block Grant) provides: Critically needed, flexible funding To address the unique preventative health needs Linked to Healthy People 2020/2030 objectives Non-competitive allocation to each state, plus territories and DC. This year F2021 : $ 1,380,337 Next year F2022 : TBA Note that this is a two-year grant and funding is spent in the second year. Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention 2

  3. F2021 Update Interim Annual Progress report For activities from Sept-Dec 2021: Several areas are at risk of not meeting targets (will be adjusting workplan to address these): DPHIP completion. Maine CDC Operational database (no longer needed). Reaccreditation steps and plans. Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention 3

  4. F2021 Revisions Will be submitting a budget revision: Reduction of time for three staff who have been working on COVID-related activities. Increases in our Epidemiology contract, Shared CHNA Equity work. Support for HETL improvements. Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention 4

  6. F2022 Planning Continuing projects focused on: Community Engagement Informatics/Epidemiology Capacity Accreditation Sexual Assault Prevention Allocations still unknown, but assuming flat funding. Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention 6

  7. F2022 Planning Timeline: Workplan, budget development underway. Public Hearing will be scheduled in Late April/Early May. SCC approval may be done via email. Submission to DHHS for signatures June 1. Plan will be due no later than July 1. Timing may be adjusted based on US CDC request for early submission.
