Explore a variety of engaging enrichment programs such as cooking, Latin, netball, journalism, film club, music rehearsals, and computational thinking. These programs offer students opportunities to learn new skills, discover interests, and have fun outside of regular academics.

  1. In zoos, the animals get fun things to play on and tasks to keep their brains from atrophying. It s called enrichment . This is our version, for you!

  2. From after half term Wed 1st Nov 2017 Wed 17th Jan 10 weeks (excluding 20th Dec) Please put down a 1st and 2nd choice

  3. Whats on offer? Mrs K Johnson Cooking for University (20 places) Cooking simple, healthy meals on a budget. Each week you will bring in ingredients and learn how to make something tasty!

  4. Whats on offer? Mr S Beasley Latin - to impress your mates (20 places) The basics of Latin in order to improve your ability to read complex words as well as Latin words in every day use; to help you be that person in a pub quiz others look at in amazement with minimal effort!

  5. Whats on offer? Mrs W Burgess National AoC League for Netball You already know if you re doing this. Some additional places available

  6. Whats on offer? Mrs L Stephens Iris Magazine (20 places) Aspiring journalists, researchers, English students. We also need people who are good at marketing and graphics (DTP).

  7. Whats on offer? Mr B Jones Beyond Hollywood (20 places) A film club that presents movies that you may not have seen before. This includes foreign film, cult cinema, art house movies and black and white classics to try and introduce you to a wider range of films than you pick up at your local cinema. Students may be asked to complete a permission slip if they are under 18 so that we can show some specially selected films of a higher certificate.

  8. Whats on offer? Mr A Davies and Mr J Farthing Music rehearsals Come and rehearse together with singing or instruments. Perform a recital Christmas time in the sixth form.

  9. Whats on offer? Mr C Taylor Computational thinking (20 places) An introduction into coding with python, for students who have not done it before, or providing some problems that could be solved computationally.

  10. Whats on offer? Mrs G Hagon Feminista! (20 places) A discussion/activist group which will look at how women's equality has still a long way to go! The aim is to discuss and campaign on women's rights in society and politics. We will look at school based issues as well as national and international issues. This will look amazing on university applications because you will have participated in school actions, debate and take part in leading campaigns. This group is open to all (boys can be and should be feminists too).

  11. Whats on offer? Mr J Cosh and Mr L Helme Fitness (12 places available) St John s sport s centre have said that the PE dept can use their facilities. It will still be open to the public. Have an extra hour a week keeping fit!

  12. Whats on offer? West Bromwich Albion You ll know if you already signed up for this. More places available.

  13. Whats on offer? Peer teaching For this you will need to speak to either a head of department or DOS. You need to find an hour a week not necessarily on a Wed5. You may be working in lessons with a small group of students or acting as a reading buddy . If you choose this then the member of staff who you report to needs to email me to confirm by Friday.

  14. Whats on offer? Mrs L Brown Mindfulness (15 places) Using mindfulness as a tool to enhance self- esteem and self- worth and offering a dedicated time to de- stress and bring about calmness! Through techniques such as guided meditation, body scanning, yoga and various activities to promote awareness of oneself and how to enhance personal and mental well-being.

  15. What on offer? Mr C Stansbury Extended project qualification You heard about this last week. You can do this instead of, or as well as, another enrichment option. If you start this and then drop out you will be assigned an enrichment option depending on where there are spaces available.

  16. Whats on offer? Mrs B Morgan Charity (6 places) We need to identify two charities that we want to support. We then need to raise money for them. This is in addition to our continued support of the Worcester Foodbank. I want an enthusiastic and dynamic team who will look for opportunities to raise money, implement cunning money making plans and then publicise the achievements.

  17. Whats on offer? Mrs D Howland Podcasts (4 places) Interviewing Impetus lecturers and providing Pod casts for YouthComm radio. This will also involve use of their recording studio.
