King John, also known as John Lackland, faced challenges during his reign, such as losing lands in France, imposing unpopular taxes, and conflicts with the Church and barons. The Magna Carta was created by the barons to limit the king's power and protect rights, leading to a rebellion and the invitation of Prince Louis of France to take the crown. Despite the turmoil, King John's innocent son, Henry III, ruled for 50 years.
