Installing R & RStudio RStudio is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for R. They are freely available software. Make sure you have admin. Rights on your computer. You first install R (Search for R project ) https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/ Then you install RStudio (Search for RStudio) https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/ Open RStudio and you are all set!
What is R & RStudio? - - Rstudio is just an interface to make R easier to use. R is a programing language as well as a statistical software. As such R alone can look dry and harder to use. Once you install R and Rstudio, you open Rstudio, it will automatically connect with R, and you are good to go. - -
Organization tip Before a new data analysis: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Create a folder for each data analysis project. Open Rstudio. Go to File > New Project > Existing Directory Navigate to the folder you created Click Create Project. A Rproj file will be created in the folder. Next time, you double click this file to open your project. Go to File > New File > R Markdown (or R Script) and click Ok. Save the new R Mardown file. Here you will store your R script. Make sure you store all your scripts. Ideally, you want to have in scrip all single steps from reading the data to final results. 6. 7. 8.
