  2. Types of Insurance Relevant to Extension Work Accident/Health personal insurance that covers for doctor /hospital/etc. Automotive/Vehicle Personal insurance that covers injuries, vehicle damage and personal liability in the event of injury

  3. Property Covers damage to property The State of Colorado will not cover another entity s property Liability Protects against judgments for damages when injury is incurred (physical or otherwise) and is caused by another person s actions (or lack of action).

  4. So what applies, when Accident/ Health Primary Vehicle Property Liability Personal (employee and volunteer) Primary Primary Primary if not job related (Umbrella) Primary when on the job. CSU (for employee and authorized volunteers) N/A Secondary N/A

  5. What about location??? In state Governmental Immunity Protection applies. Out of state Governmental Immunity Protection does NOT apply.

  6. So if youre traveling out of state and carrying passengers (4-Hers, MGs) In your own car your insurance is primary. Inform your insurance company that you carry passengers as a part of your job duties and be sure your insurance reflects that. In a county car May not be allowed in the future.

  7. Traveling out of state (cont): In a rental car Purchase additional liability insurance offered by the rental car company. NOTE: In all cases, if you are on the job you will be covered by CSU s liability protection, BUT the limits of governmental immunity will not apply if an accident occurs out of the state of Colorado.
