2022 Youth Rules Interpretation https://www.usalacrosse.com/sites/default/files/documents/Games/ 2022%20Girls-Youth%20Rules-Interp.pdf Adjustments to the above rules: WPSLA does not use overtime in regular season play but will develop overtime and tie-breaking procedures for the tournament. WPSLA does not use a stop clock. U12/U14 games are modified checking, U8/U10 no checking.

Coaches Certifies equipment compliance Responsible for control of all bench persons Field monitor controls spectators Only head coach can approach or ask officials questions Does not refer to players on the field Can request a time-out Indicates a substitute for an injured or suspended player
Our Corps We average 18-20 new recruits each year We currently have 90 officials 70 adults (18 >) New to 40 years experience 16 are also PIAA/USL 18 are currently in college and active 20 > 15 yrs old New to 3 years experience
Reason for success We have always stressed that we are a FUNdamentals focused organization; for players, coaches AND officials We require new coaches to take the NFHS coaching course We have zero tolerance for abuse of officials Club administrators and coaches have been very receptive to ensuring sportsmanship We require the use of Field Monitors
What is an official thinking? 1. Is there a foul? 2. What kind of foul? 3. Direction and hand signal? 4. Where did the foul occur? 4a. Should I raise a flag? 4b. When should I lower the flag? Let play continue or whistle the foul? What if there are succeeding fouls? Keep the flag up or call the foul? 5. Who committed the foul(s)? 6. What is the restart? 6a. Where do we place players, if appropriate? (B.O.O.) 7. Who should whistle the restart, if required?
