Training package goals
The aim is to provide those involved in developing a national
instrument on internal displacement with the technical skills to
do so in terms of process and content.
Such instruments aim to contribute to the prevention of
displacement, the protection of IDPs and other people
affected by displacement and the pursuit of durable solutions.

The aim of this first session is to explain the rationale of the workshop for Country X and clarify its aim. The first slides can be adapted according to the specifics of the country. The main outcome of the workshop will be the design of an action plan on the development and implementation of a national instrument on internal displacement involving all relevant stakeholders. It is important to stress that the workshop participants come from different organisations and institutions - government officials, MPs, NGOs, CSOs, IDPs’ representatives, international organisations - and reflect those who should be involved in the process.
This workshop aims to equip participants with the technical skills needed to develop a national instrument on internal displacement, focusing on prevention, protection, and durable solutions. Objectives include defining rationale, identifying instrument type, and planning a consultative process. Various stages, agendas, and tools will be covered to facilitate the learning process.
