  12. Adult social care workforce survey Tell the Government what is needed to make social care a better place to work. The Government has launched the first major national survey of all care workers in all care roles and settings in adult social care in England. The findings will be used to shape Government thinking on how they should support everyone working in social care to ensure those working in care roles in the sector get the resources, recognition and development necessary to provide the best quality of care and excel in their careers. Please share the survey link with your frontline staff and encourage them to respond.   13. Get ready for the CQC Single Assessment Framework The CQC has announced they will commence the roll out of the Single Assessment Framework from November 2023 for adult social care providers. Ensure your service is prepared by exploring recommendations, practical examples and resources covering the 34 new Quality Statements in our inspection toolkit. Good and Outstanding care learning modules We ve launched a range of eLearning modules to help you understand the CQC inspection process, what is expected of your service and how you can best evidence these expectations The one-hour modules include: Being prepared for CQC inspection Improving your CQC rating Delivering Outstanding care. Anyone involved in CQC inspection can use the modules and will be awarded a certificate to evidence their completion. Modules cost 15 employers can claim 50 per participant from the Workforce Development Fund. Find out more Internal

  18. Updated Good and Outstanding toolkit Later in 2023, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be updating their inspection process to utilise the single assessment framework . We ve created an updated version of our inspection toolkit to support you in understanding these changes and preparing for your next inspection. The toolkit based around the current framework will continue to be available alongside this until the changes are brought in by the CQC. Oliver McGowan draft code of practice The draft Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism code of practice outlines how health and care providers who are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) can meet the legislative requirement introduced by the Health and Care Act 2022 to ensure staff receive training on learning disability and autism, appropriate to their role. The public consultation on the draft code of practice will run for 12 weeks and closes on Tuesday 19 September 2023.   20. Oliver McGowan mandatory training records Use ASC-WDS to keep track of your Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training records. You can now record Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism in the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC- WDS). This is a simple way to record and track which staff have completed the training. Having this information stored in one place can save you time and help you to evidence completion of the training during inspections. Create or login into your account Internal

New resources to support culturally appropriate care These resources have been produced to help you have a clearer understanding of culturally appropriate care and what that may mean to individuals you support. The Culturally appropriate care guide covers a broad range of topics that will help you to learn about and be sensitive to people s cultural identity or heritage. New training resources to help support personal relationships We have launched a new package of training materials to help develop the skills and knowledge needed to support people who draw on services with personal relationships. The trainer materials include PowerPoint slides which are supported by a training facilitator guide, lesson plan and learner handouts and worksheets. They compliment our Supporting personal relationships guide and are focused on enabling social care providers to offer support in a way that respects peoples choices and values whilst keeping them safe.
