  2. Image result for school games logo Tiddlywinks How to play Make a target using a bucket or cones/markers. Stand two metres away from the target with a racket and some balls or shuttlecocks. When the timer starts, try to hit a ball or shuttlecock into the target. After the time is up, count how many items are in the target. Equipment A racket or frying pan. Balls or shuttlecocks. Self-belief: Try setting yourself a target that you think you can achieve and then gradually increase it and keep your belief each time. Your School Games - Passion Safety Ensure there is plenty of space between the targets and you are not striking towards another person.

Working with a partner, assign a striker and a feeder. From a drop shot, the striker hits the ball towards different targets 5 metres away. The striker gets points for hitting different targets, e.g. Cereal box 10 points, bucket 5 points, cone 1 point. Each player has six strikes, before adding up their score and rotating roles. Equipment Targets e.g. Cereal box, cones, buckets. Soft balls, shuttles or ball of socks Cricket bat, tennis racket or frying pan. School Games Values The PE School Sports Network Honesty: Do you keep score accurately? Safety Ensure the size of the area is big enough so no one gets hit by the ball. Mark out each target exactly 5 metres away. Make sure no one is stood near you when swinging the bat.

  4. Image result for school games logo Sea Battle How to play The aim of the game is to throw accurately onto your opponents base. Can you sink your opponents Ship? Place a target area in front of each player (you could use cones, hoops or skipping ropes to mark out this area). These should be approximately five metres apart. When you and your opponent are ready, throw your torpedoes (beanbags/sock balls) at the other team s ship. Torpedoes only count if they stay in the marked area. Agree on the number of torpedoes needed to sink the ship. Essential Bean bags/sock balls or other soft throwing items. You could use cones/hoops to mark out areas. Passion: Do you play this game a lot because you really enjoy it? Your School Games - Passion Safety Ensure throwing items are soft. Check throwing items aren t being thrown directly at other players.

  5. Image result for school games logo Close to the Target How to play The aim of the game is to get your beanbags as near to the target as you can. Mark out a square. Standing directly opposite your partner on the opposite side of the square, players have three beanbags each. A target is placed in the centre of the square. Take it in turns to throw your beanbags towards the target. Equipment Open space to play the game. A target and beanbags (in two different colours if possible). Optional Cones or markers to mark out your area. Measuring tape to measure the closest beanbag. Self-Belief : Do you believe your beanbag will land where you are aiming? School Games Values The PE School Sports Network Determination: Can you keep your focus when a throw doesn t go where you want? Your School Games - School Games Value: Determination Safety Ensure playing area is safe. Ensure only one player is throwing at a time. You should only go inside the square to collect beanbags after the last beanbag has been thrown.

Stick 6 pieces of paper on a wall and number them 1 to 6. Your opponent will call out a number and using a tennis ball you must throw the ball at that target. If you successfully hit the correct target you earn a point. Taking it in turns, the first person to earn 6 points is the winner. Safety Ensure the size of the area is big enough so no one gets hit by the ball. Make sure the surface you are playing against doesn t have any windows that could be broken.

You need to collect the beanbag and return to the throwing line once thrown. Equipment A beanbag and a hoop If you do not have a beanbag or a hoop, why not use a pair of socks and a washing basket instead!   8. Press-Up & Catch How to play How many times in a row can you throw a ball up in the air, perform a press-up (while the ball is in the air) and catch the ball before it lands? Determination: Can you keep going when you re getting really tired? Your School Games - School Games Value: Determination For a challenge: Can you catch the ball with 1 hand only?
