SA Status Update Independent Reviewer s 6thReport to the Court was released on 6/06/15 Of the 122 Provisions historically rated: 32 received a compliance rating, 25 received a non-compliance rating, 1 was deferred, and 62 were not rated this reporting period. Slide 2
From the Report Maintained rating of compliance: the creation of HCBS waiver slots; increased case management and licensing oversight; discharge planning and transition services for individuals residing in TCs; developing a statewide crisis services system for adults ID/DD. Newly achieved compliance ratings: Virginia s Plan to Increase Independent Living; Offering choice of service providers; Adult crisis services; and Regional Quality Councils. Slide 3
From the Report Continued work needed: opportunities for individuals to live in most integrated settings; transition of children from nursing facilities and large ICFs; crisis services for children and adolescents; integrated day activities and supported employment; subsidized community living options; and ISP process focused on helping individuals to learn new skills. Slide 4
From the Report Of Note: Recommendations: 14 recommendations with a request for an update on them by September 30, 2015. Individual Reviews: follow up report on the 27 individual reviews with those on DD Waiver due September 30, 2015. 7thCourt Reporting Period The Independent Reviewer and his consultants will be reviewing the following areas this reporting period: RST Quality & Risk Management and QSRs Crisis with focus on children & most in need Transportation with focus on quality service delivery and system management Individual Reviews: individuals who have transitioned from Training Centers to living in Regions I and II. Updates Outcome Timelines submitted to Judge Gibney on 3/15/15. DOJ submitted summary findings on Community Behavioral Reviews Third Status conference with Judge Gibney is scheduled for July 9, 2015 Waiver Redesign: Amendments submitted to CMS for approval by July 2016; Consolidated waiver on-line system (IDOLS & Oracle database successor) in place by July 1, 2016. Housing and Human Services Consortium HHS100 Day Challenge launched on June 3-4, 2015 Goal: to increase access & availability of integrated independent housing options with appropriate supportive services for people with I/DD Regional teams: Greater Richmond, Southside, Peninsula and Northern Virginia Each team defined priorities, developed goals, & establish work plans for regional efforts over the next 100 days Projected over 100 individuals to transition into independent housing with services within 100 days Slide 8
Crisis and Behavioral Supports A comprehensive plan for all Behavior/Crisis Services has been consolidated to include all of the following initiatives: Provider Development Provider Competency (DSP, Supervisors and Interventionist) First Responder Training Adult and Children s Crisis Developmental Disability/Behavioral Health Collaboration Mental Health Hospital/Jail Diversion Slide 9
