Understanding Thickened Fluids in Aged Care Facilities
Exploring the adequacy of thickened fluids in residential aged care settings, a study examined staff perceptions, preparation factors, adherence to IDDSI standards, and issues related to dysphagia. Findings revealed barriers, enablers, and the importance of staff education and support in ensuring the proper preparation of thickened drinks for residents with swallowing difficulties.
