Welcome to our vision of Networking Sunday 26thJune 2016
What is Networking? Networking is a supportive structure of individuals with various talents who can aid each other on bettering them selves and their society. Services, talents, knowledge, experience and compassion is shared amongst the members creating a sense of integrity amongst the group. The objective of a network is to form relationships and friendships where people can mingle and form a coherent community with common interests at heart. A good network should have the following features: Dissemination of information and data Build relationships and friendships Benefit others with various talents
Networking of Oshwal in South- London A network will enable to fulfil some of the community goals and objectives, such as Propagation of Jainism Place of worship Celebrate festivals (inc sporting events) Care for the elderly Guidance and support
Some advantages of Networking People can make new relationships and friends People can collaborate, communicate and easily share information People can gain skills, advice, feedback and contacts for their future wellbeing Peoples talents can benefit others People are part of something valuable The Oshwal South-London community consists of 1400 members, both young and old. Setting up a network amongst members will be of benefit to individuals wanting to prosper in various aspects of life. Therefore establishing and maintaining a solid network amongst the younger and older generation of Oshwals, is important to providing the opportunity for growth and success, for our children, their children and so on.
Some disadvantages of Networking Can be time consuming Can be expensive to maintain Conflicts can arise within the network A network can be limiting in various ways Results may not be instant
Suggested Oshwal South-London network structure: 12 committee members 50 well-wishers from 1400 members 500 households (approx.) Committee 2 committee members 10 deputies 50 Individual WELLWISHERS 10 households each
Practical steps to build up a Network 1) Committee must buy into the vision of a network 2) Each committee member responsible for his network to lead 3) Choosing the well-wishers 4) Observing protocols to ensure transparency, fairness, good conduct amongst other good virtues
Logistics The 10 deputies at the committee level should choose to manage 5 well-wishers each, based on their location of the closest well-wishers. Good communication skills and understanding of our community will be perquisite A good mix of young, old, male and female Timetable Initiative launch Sunday 26th June Framework to be agreed by Wednesday 31st August 1st meeting for well-wishers mid-September
Well-wisher Well-wisher is not a word, nor merely a relationship. It is a silent promise which says I was, I am and I will be with you, for now and in the future .
