  1. FOUNDATIONS OF OUR FAITH Reviewing The Basics of Christianity Moses B. Musinguzi @ Last Adam Tabernacle Sunday 16thJanuary 2022

  2. The Basics of Christianity (Heb 6:1-3) 1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits.

  3. Resurrection of the Dead (Recap 1) Death 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 . . . by man came death. . . 22 in Adam all die . . .

  4. Resurrection of the Dead (Recap 2) Where the dead go 1) Sheol (Hades) ALL people before the death and resurrection of Jesus Now temporary abode for only the wicked 2) Heaven All the righteous who were in Hades All the righteous in the New Testament era 3) Lake of Fire Permanent or eternal abode of all the wicked

  5. Resurrection of the Dead (Recap 3) Resurrection 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

  6. Resurrection of the Dead (Recap 4) The righteous and wicked will all resurrect John 5:28-29 The hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. Timing of the resurrection The righteous: at the rapture, after the tribulation The wicked: after the millennial reign of Christ

  7. The Eternal Judgment

  8. The Eternal Judgment (1) For the evil: After the resurrection Revelation 20:5, 11-13, 15 The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. 11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it . . . 12And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. 13The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. . . 15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

  9. The Eternal Judgment (2) Degrees of sin lead to degrees of punishment John 19:11 The one who delivered Me to you (Pilate) has the greater sin. The Law of Moses has measured responses to sin In the day of judgment it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than for Chorazin and Bethsaida, for Sodom than for Capernaum (Matthew 11:21-24) Those who are saved, but later forsake the Lord will be punished more severely (Hebrews 10:28-29; 2 Peter 2:20-21)

  10. The Eternal Judgment (3) For the righteous: After the resurrection Daniel 12:13 But you (Daniel), go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.

  11. The Eternal Judgment (4) For the righteous: After the resurrection Revelation 11:15, 18 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ . . . 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great.

  12. The Eternal Judgment (5) We will give account for our lives Hebrews 4:13 . . . there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Matthew 12:36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

  13. The Eternal Judgment (6) We will give account for our lives 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

  14. The Eternal Judgment (7) We will give account for our lives 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 . . . each one s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one s work, of what sort it is. 14If anyone s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15If anyone s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

  15. The Eternal Judgment (8) Types of rewards 1. Reigning with Jesus in intimacy To Him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne - - - And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshipped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (Rev 3:21- - -20:4) 2. Mansions, etc.

  16. The Eternal Judgment (9) Galatians 5:16, 21 Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh . . . Those who practice such things (sin) will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Be . . . always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord Colossians 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid
