  2. Preliminary Steps Classify your source: Is this information from a print resource? Or did you find this information on the computer? If the information came from a computer, ask yourself these questions: Is it a Visible Web resource? Or does this information come from the Invisible web? Feeling confused about some of these terms? Go on to the next slide

  3. Checking Terminology Remember, the Visible Web refers to information that is available on the open or free web. Search engines like Google and Yahoo return Visible Web Resources. The Invisible Web is a term that refers to information from subscription databases. Search engines like Google do not have access to this information. In fact, the only way to gain access to invisible web information is through a library s homepage.
