RE Lesson 4: Forgiveness
Think back to our last lesson where we learned about the Prodigal Son. Can you remember what you predicted might happen when the son returned home?
I wonder if your predictions were correct? Lets watch the following clip to find out what happens in the rest of the story. Parable of the Prodigal Son
The Son Returns Talk about how each are feeling as they meet. Why is the son s head down? Why are the father s arms held open?
The meeting has been drawn in many ways. What words might describe the son s feelings as he is welcomed back by his father and a party is held!
Jesus tried to lead the people to a deeper meaning in the story. The father is God and the son is us. Christians believe that God is like a wonderful father wanting to have a relationship with his children us; wanting to forgive us. father and the son stand for? ( Click to find out if you are right.) Find someone to discuss the following questions with: Is forgiveness only important to Christians? Is it good to forgive people? Why/why not. How does it feel if you don t forgive? Try: Put on angry face and then relax it as though you have forgiven someone. Why is it sometimes hard to forgive?
Task On a heart write about a time when you forgave/ didn t forgive How did it feel? You can write about more than one occasion if you like. Perhaps you will write one heart about a time you forgave and one heart about a time you didn t. That is up to you. Please upload your hearts onto teams.
