Turkey-FAO Partnership Programme (FTPP-II) Workshop in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
The Turkey-FAO Partnership Programme (FTPP) involves setting up offices, conducting planning workshops, and establishing collaboration for technical expertise sharing in Central Asian countries. The program receives funding from the Government of Turkey and other contributors to enhance capacities, facilitate partnerships, and promote awareness of FTPP initiatives.

Donor Country Government of Turkey 2 Million USD/year for 5 years (2007- 2011) Total Amount 10 Million USD 300.000 USD per year for Office expenditure Contributions of Turkish Government Junior Technical Officers (JTO) Designated for sub-regional office salaries social and medical expenditures covered by Turkish Government
FTPP Provides technical experience and know-how in the field with Central Asian Countries (experience share between Turkey and FAO), improve capacities of experts and institutions, Enables collaboration among Sub-Region Countries to enhance communication and facilitate to establish partnership among different institutions, Gives opportunity to create awareness of FTPP.
PARTNERS AND GOVERNING BODY OF THE PROGRAMME Government of Turkey MFAL FAO Other contributors :TIKA, ECO, NGO s etc. The governing body of the FTPP is; Steering Committee Meetings organized at least once a year.

SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS UNDER FTPP-I 1- Central Asia Regional Programme for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development- FishDev Project Main output: The Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission(CACFish)is established, 2- SeedSectorDevelopmentinCountriesofEconomicCooperationOrganization(ECO) Main output: A RegionalSeedStrategyand a regional seed agremenet are formed, 3- ECORegionalCentreforFoodSecurity(ECORCCFS) Main output: ECORegionalCentreforFoodSecurity is established. 4-CattleProductionImprovementinCentralAsiaCountries Main output: CattleProducer sAssociationswereestablishedandequipmentfor animal feed producing weresupplied to project beneficiaries
Second Phase of FTPP Signed in 04 June 2014
For another 5 Year period; 20 Million USD contribution by; Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs Grand National Assembly of Turkey approval procedure is still continuing
The new contrubition of Turkey Intended to; Support to the region, Extend FTPP to the other countries out of the region, Possess more strong recruitments Sub-Office with new Turkey is again ready to cooperate with the countries; Share experience, expertise and technology 47 Research Institutes and Stations Konya Drought Test Center International Agricultural Research and Training Centers
FTPP II-Expectations To focus on; High budget projects with concrete and effective outputs, Avoiding repetition of the projects, More collaboration between partners of the projects, Increase of projects including food security, Increase of projects including capacity building of the countries,
FTPP II- Expectations Prepare according to the common priorities and make need assessments, Fulfill the close monitoring of the projects by nominating experts, Enhance to solve trans-boundary issues, Provide more experienced international experts to be available in the projects, Use effectively the lessons learned by FTPP-I, e.g. Bureucracy and ratification period must be shorten and pre-approval may be recieved.
