The post-2015 agenda and Sustainable Development Goals provide opportunities for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to align its policies and initiatives with global priorities. The SDGs are a new integrated framework for sustainable development, with a focus on areas such as food security, access to food, and agricultural sustainability. FAO is positioned to play a crucial role in supporting countries to meet their SDG commitments by leveraging internal and external initiatives already in place.
