Ephesians 6:17 (NASB) And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
WHY DO I NEED THE HELMET OF SALVATION?
WHAT IS THE HELMET OF SALVATION?
PAST Justification Freedom from the Penalty of Sin
PRESENT Sanctification Freedom from the Power of Sin
FUTURE Glorification Freedom from the Presence of Sin
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith [past], we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand [present]. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God [future].
2 Corinthians 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:8-9 But since we belong to the day, let us be self- controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Helmet Of Salvation Is The Absolute Assurance That God will be Faithful to bring our Salvation to its Full and Complete Fulfilment
HOW DO I TAKE THE HELMET OF SALVATION?
Base My Hope In Gods Word, not My Feelings
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Remember that my Salvation is ALL God s work
Titus 3:5-7 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us
Titus 3:5-7 generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Philippians 1:6 He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
John 10:27-29 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father s hand.
Keep My Eyes on the Finish Line
Romans 13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 6:11-12 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.
Hebrews 6:11-12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
