Sustainable Building Competition: Battle of the Buildings
Join the EPA's ENERGY STAR Battle of the Buildings competition to reduce energy and water waste in buildings. Compete individually or as part of a team to achieve top recognition for savings. Registration open from January 1 to May 31, 2015, with winners announced in April 2016. About the 2015 Competition For the second consecutive year, EPA s ENERGY STAR program is hosting the Battle of the Buildings: Team Challenge This year, buildings can compete individually and as part of teams in the Team Challenge! Buildings and teams compete to see who can reduce their energy and water waste the most. Available EPA Recognition for energy and water savings Criteria Overall Top Team* Percentage-based reduction in energy or water use from 2014 to 2015 Overall Top Building* Top Building by Category 20% Team Reduction* 20% or more reduction in energy or water use from 2014 to 2015 20% Building Reduction* *Available for Federal and non-Federal buildings and teams 2
About the 2015 Competition Registration period is open from January 1, 2015 to May 31, 2015 Buildings and teams compete to reduce 2015 energy and water use compared to a 2014 baseline Building and team progress tracked at www.energystar.gov/BattleoftheBuildings EPA announces public launch of competition on July 22, 2015 Winner will be announced in April 2016 3

How Can You Help? Turn off lights when daylight is sufficient. Activate power management settings and turn off your computer and monitor when not in use. Unplug electronics such as cell phones and laptops once they are charged. Keep air vents clear of paper, files, and office supplies.
