Study Leave Basics (Hopefully!)
Annual Entitlement for study leave is 
30 days
This includes your:
Monthly teaching and SGPET linked days 
– This is our local teaching with TPDs,
external speakers and group work – all day events.
Patch Tutorials 
– when in a GP placement, small group teaching with the host
practice organising a teaching topic – usually an afternoon session. Every other
month. (Emma will be sending this soon)
Days in Practice 
– Time for you to visit your ST3 practice – try to book in dates with
your ES every other month.
OOH/UUSC Inductions 
– If you are in a GP placement – the next event is on
Wednesday 22

 Feb 23 (6 – 8.30pm) Zoom invites have been sent for this.
Personal Study Leave days – Please see the Study leave guidance on approved.

12 Days remaining (6 days per rotation if full time)
Book the days in with your Rota Co-ordinator/Practice – then add to accent.
Accent is the study leave IT system we use for tracking your requests – please access
via 
Accent - Sign-In (hicom.co.uk)
 and use the forgotten password tab.
Can be used for Courses/Clinics
Automatically approved courses include:
BLS
Level 3 Safeguarding
Severn AKT/CSA Prep Courses
SGPET Courses
Anything else needs to go through your ES, but if in doubt just send to me to double
check especially if there is a cost involved.
Study Leave Budget
No actual budget limit
If there is a cost involved and is not on the approved list on the study
leave guide, just send a quick email to Emma about the course
before booking.
After the course upload the completed claim to Accent  with a
copy of the receipt/Invoice and the attendance certificate. (Within
3 months of course)
Claims are paid directly into your account, can take a while as goes
through central finance system.
To Do’s
Go into your Accent account. Via 
Accent - Sign-In (hicom.co.uk)
 
Only days in practice and personal study days need to go on
Accent.
Book study leave as early as possible to secure time off with
department and make sure all the monthly teaching is on your rota.
Register with SGPET.
