  2. SUSI Who are we and what do we do? SUSI is Ireland s single awarding authority for student funding in further and higher education. Types of Funding Contribution towards Fees Maintenance Grant

  3. FUNDING TYPES - Postgraduate Postgraduate level 8, 9 or 10 courses undertaken at approved institutions in the State and in 4 approved institutions in Northern Ireland: Fee Grant: Maintenance Grant:Yes (Special Rate only) Yes

  4. MAXIMUM PERIOD OF FUNDING Postgraduate Level Funding is available at Postgraduate level for a maximum period of four years, irrespective of previous grant funding.

  5. KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Nationality Residency Progression Approved College/Course Reckonable Income for 2020

  6. INCOME THRESHOLDS Postgraduate Students Where the Household Income for 2020 is: For a family with less than 4 children; Under 54,240 For a family with 4 to 7 children; Under 59,595 For a family with 8 or more children; Under 64,700 You may be eligible for grant funding from SUSI

  7. POSTGRADUATE GRANT RATE Standard Rate 3,500 contribution towards Fees Special Rate up to 6,270 towards Fees & Maintenance Grant of 2,375 or 5,915

  8. SPECIAL RATE Where the Household Income for 2020 is less than 24,500 and there is an eligible long term Department of Social Protection Payment on 31/12/2020, you may be eligible for the Special Rate of Maintenance. Income < 24,500 = Special Rate of Maintenance 2,375 5,915 Rate of Maintenance Grant 45km or Under Over 45km 263.89/mth 657.22/mth

  9. APPLICANT CLASS Categories of Applicant Class: Dependent (incl. Mature Dependent) Independent Why is it relevant? It determines whose income is counted. 9
