SCHOOL CELL PHONE POLICY If students possess a wireless communication device, it must be turned off and kept out-of-sight inside a pocket, book bag, purse, or similar container, unless authorized by the Principal/designee or teacher. It is the expectation that parents/guardians should only contact students through the school office during school hours. Violation of this policy will result in confiscation, and the device will only be released to the parent/guardian or student based on discipline matrix. Progressive discipline will apply for repeated infractions. School employees will not be held liable for wireless communication devices that are lost, stolen, or confiscated. Florida Statute 1006.07

BUS SAFETY BUS SAFETY Riding the School Bus is a Privilege if you violate the code of conduct related to BUS SAFETY. You may lose your Bus Privileges for up to school one year Any Infraction on the Bus the Dean may use other the Code of Student Conduct infractions that meets the behavior. A student is required to scan their student ID badge when boarding and disembarking the bus for all school-to-home services. If the student does not have their ID badge, the student must give the driver their full name and/or student ID number. Duval County Public Schools now has Jurisdiction at School Bus Stops If students Fight at School Designated Bus Stop School has a right to Impose of Code of Conduct Consequence. (Students can be suspended from school for Fighting at a Designated BUS STOP)
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FIGHTING FIGHTING 1.FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN OUR SCHOOLS STUDENTS THAT HAVE ISSUES WITH OTHER STUDENTS NEED TO SPEAK TO ADMINISTRATION SO THAT THE SITUATION CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE ESCULATING (If you do not tell someone something is happening, It did not happen) 2. STUDENTS THAT VIOLATE FIGHTING INFRACTIONS WILL BE PENALIZED BASED OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WHICH INCLUDES SUSPENSION FROM SCHOOL or PLACEMENT AT AN ALTERNATIVE CENTER 3. There are Higher Penalties for students that participate in an altercation with multiple participants/students. (Initiator of Major Altercations can potentially receive more time in the Alternative Center or Possible Expulsion) Students that participate in Multiple Participant Fights May be Referred to Alternative Center on the FIRST INCIDENT
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DRUGS/VAPING CONSEQUENCES ARREST DRUG/ALCOHOL CLASSES (Nighttime with your Parents) ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PLACEMENT EXPULSION 3-Hour VAPING CLASS DRUGS/ALCOHOL ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY CAMPUS OR SCHOOL SPONSORED EVENT. STUDENTS ARE SUBJECT TO ARREST IS FOUND WITH DRUGS. ALL SCHOOL WILL PERFORM REGULAR RANDOM SEARCHES OF LOCKERS OR BOOKBACKS/PURSES ON SCHOOL PREMISES
DRUG/ALCOHOL/NICOTINE FREE SCHOOLS Student that possess or come to school under the influence will be required to participate in the Nighttime Substance Abuse Class along with Parent/Guardian Students that do not attend the Night-Time Class will be forwarded to the Hearing Office for possible placement to the Alternative Center Students that are caught Vaping or with Vaping Products will be assigned to the 3- Hour Nicotine/Vaping Course. If caught a second time vaping/product the student will be required to participate in the full night time substance abuse class
BOMB THREATS BOMB THREATS 4.08 (DOC) **Bomb Threats Reporting to school district employees or agents, police, or fire officials the presence of a bomb on or near school property with a reasonable belief that a bomb is actually present. Also giving a false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction, or concerning the use of firearms in a violent manner; penalty. (Pursuant to Florida Statute 790.163) ANY STUDENT COMMITTING A BOMB THREAT WILL RESULT IN POSSIBLE EXPULSION This is includes but not limited to: Calling a bomb threat in Bomb threat on social media Writing Bomb Threat on school property (School Assignment, Walls etc..) Telling Friends you will bring a bomb to school Every School. Every Classroom. Every Student. Every Day

SENIOR PRIVILEGES SENIOR PRIVILEGES NOTE VIII: FORFEITURE OF SENIOR PRIVILEGES: A senior student who commits a Level III or IV infraction, described in the Code of Student Conduct, shall forfeit the right to participate in graduation exercises and other senior-related activities until the student has successfully completed all assigned consequences and disciplinary actions. School Board Policies and Procedures regarding assignment to education centers shall apply to students who commit a Level III or Level IV infraction.
Felony Clause Per Code of Conduct Following appropriate due process procedures, a student charged with a felony or delinquent act that would be a felony if committed by an adult, whether it occurred on or off the school property, may be assigned to an alternative program or receive alternative educational services and/or forfeit Senior Privileges. Such assignment and/or forfeiture may be made upon determination that the student is eligible according to federal and state program criteria, and 1.The nature of the offense is such that the student poses a threat to safety of other students or personnel at school or the student s safety is at risk by remaining in school or school sponsored event with other students. 2.The principal shall initiate this process in writing through their Region Superintendent.
Behavior Outside of School Behavior Outside of School Conduct outside of school, including threats, intimidation, harassment, or discrimination, where the incident (conduct) is well known or of public concern, which has a detrimental effect on the health, safety and welfare of the school, and which causes a substantial disruption of, or interferes with, the educational process at school may also constitute an infraction of the Code of Student Conduct.
Dress Code Changes Dress Code Changes Secondary student must wear a visible ID on campus at all times.
Dress Code Slippers/Bedroom Shoes shall not be worn Overly tight-fitting clothing shall not be worn, ie. leggings, biking shorts See-through garments shall not be worn Jeans with holes above the knee shall not be worn Midriff baring shirts/tops shall not be worn, ie. crop tops Head coverings, including, but not limited to hoods, caps, hats, durags, bandannas, bonnets, and/or sunglasses, shall not be worn on school property, unless required by a physician or authorized by school personnel. Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh length or longer.
Student ASSEMBLY- Policy and Compliance Students seeking to express their ideas and opinions through peaceful assembly/demonstration must obtain prior written confirmation of the school s ability to accommodate the request. The Superintendent (or Designee) will develop a standardized procedure and form for requesting written confirmation. Written confirmation must be obtained through the principal (following consultation with the Superintendent or his/her designee) at least two (2) school days in advance of the event. A school day is defined as a day when schools are open for both students and school staff. The principal (or his/her designee) may place reasonable time, place, duration, and manner restrictions on the event.
Student ASSEMBLY Student ASSEMBLY- - Policy and Compliance Policy and Compliance (Continued) (Continued) Any student who participates in an assembly/demonstration and creates a disturbance, interferes with the orderly operation of the school, or otherwise violates provisions of the Code of Student Conduct, either due to their participation in the event or their conduct at the event, shall be subject to the appropriate disciplinary action/intervention, as set forth in the Code of Student Conduct. Reports of discrimination, harassment, or bullying involving participating students or nonparticipating students and staff shall be addressed in accordance with Board Policy 10.10, Prohibiting Discrimination and Harassment, and Board Policy 10.20 Anti-Bullying Policy.
Car Riders Students who are being dropped off in the morning must follow these procedures in the drop-off area: The driver of your vehicle must pull ALL the way down past the cafeteria before stopping. Students should exit the vehicle and cross in FRONT of their vehicle never walk in front of someone else s vehicle. Do NOT sit in the vehicle talking because that holds up the car line. Have your belongings ready so you can exit quickly. The driver of your vehicle is NOT allowed to turn into the Faculty/Staff Parking Lot to drop you off. Drivers must stay in the RIGHT and MIDDLE lanes. Drivers should NEVER drop students off on Davis Street while cars are behind them. This is a traffic hazard and will result in a ticket.
Morning Holding Areas Student whose 1st/5thblock classes are PE or Health will report to the GYM at 7:50am. Each class will have a designated area to sit in and will be required to be in that area only. Absolutely NO food or drinks will be allowed in the gym. Middle School students will report to the Cafeteria at 7:50am and remain there until 8:05am. High School students will report to Building 6 & the Sr. Courtyard and remain in those areas ONLY until 8:05am. Any student who does not adhere to the rules and is caught roaming the building or unauthorized restrooms will be disciplined per the Code of Conduct. Students will begin reporting to their moring holding areas on Monday, August 28th.
Transition Students should always walk on the RIGHT side of the hallway. Students should use the stairwell by the elevator to go UP. Students should use the stairwell by the gym to go DOWN. Students are NOT allowed to use the elevator without permission.
Afternoon Dismissal Students in Extended Day should report directly to the cafeteria. Car riders & Walkers should walk toward the front of the school and exit through the nearest gate/door. You should NOT exit near the back of the school for ANY reason. Bus riders should walk towards the back of the school and Wave 1-stand on the lower-level by the track, near Mr. Dent Wave 2-stand on the upper-level porch area near Mrs. Hart. Universal Breakfast & Lunch Breakfast and Lunch are free to ALL students at DCSoMA. If you want to eat breakfast, report directly to the cafeteria at 7:50am when the gate is opened & when the buses are released. Students eating breakfast will sit at the high- tops closest to the parking lot. Eat your food quickly, clean up your area, dump your tray, & report to your holding area so others will have room to sit and eat. 6th, 7th, & 8thgrade lunch have assigned tables. Students must sit with their class no exceptions.
High School Lunch Students in HS lunch may sit where they like, unless directed to follow other instructions. SENIORS may eat in the Sr. Courtyard this is the ONLY courtyard you are allowed to use during lunch. Any student caught roaming the campus will be disciplined per the Code of Conduct for skipping. If this becomes a repeated problem, ALL HS students will be confined to the cafeteria. Jr s & Sr s with a 3.0 GPA or above can apply for off- campus lunch privileges. You MUST have an application on file first. Excessive tardiness & absenteeism will result in students losing their off- campus privilege.
Food & Beverages Students are NOT allowed to have food DELIVERED to school. This includes Door Dash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub and any other delivery services. Parents may NOT send food delivers to the school either. Deliveries will NOT be accepted. Food and drinks are NOT allowed to be consumed in class. Food and drinks are NOT to be brought into class unless in a lunchbox, closed food container, or closed bag (for the student s lunch or medical reasons). Teachers must have APPROVAL from admin to serve food in class. NOTE VIII: The selling of any food and/or product is prohibited on school grounds, school transportation and school sponsored events unless approved by school administration.
