  2. Our Background The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is a not- for-profit organization that provides human blood for the purposes of transfusion within the Republic of South Africa. As an essential service provider, SANBS is rated amongst the best globally for the provision of blood and other blood related products. SANBS is renowned for its extensive industry related research as well as its progressive training programs. SANBS is a major role player in the provision of support to countries within the SADC region.

  4. SANBS Strategic Objectives 1. Innovation - Improve and expand current products & services through innovation. 2. Human centered collections - Enhance donor experience through a human-centered approach. 3. Excellence - Achieve operational excellence that consistently produces efficient & effective products & services. 4. Admin rigour - Build administrative rigour in all order to pay processes. 5. Logistics - Move blood products in the value chain in a timely, effective & efficient manner. 6. Testing and quality - Provide quality testing in an efficient manner. 7. Hearts and minds - of doctors, staff and stakeholders.

  5. SANBS ESD Program 2022 SANBS ESD program aims to create a diversified and inclusive supply chain by supporting the growth and creation of black-owned suppliers through business development support and funding. The program focuses on supporting black-owned suppliers in need of business development and technical support to grow further into the SANBS supply chain and also support existing black-owned suppliers in need of capital to grow. Suppliers may/may not already be servicing the SANBS supply chain at the time of application and are looking to grow their businesses, or have the potential to solve a SANBS value chain problem with the aim of meeting one or more of the SANBS strategic objectives.

  6. Applications are Invited (Ad Example) SANBS is inviting eligible applications for our sponsored ESD program. Applicants are required to submit a proposal of not more than 10 pages, clearly stating the initiative they would like to partake in that would assist in achieving one or more of SANBS strategic objectives. The initiative could be anything that can assist in the optimization of the SANBS strategic objectives e.g. development of a tool that could help improve the donor experience during blood donations. The cost of the initiative must be clearly broken down. The selected proposed initiatives will be fully funded by SANBS.

  7. Criteria for Eligibility of Potential Beneficiaries (Ad Example) SD Program 1. Must be a current SANBS supplier. 2. Business must be at least 51% black owned. 3. Annual turnover must be less than R10 million. ED Program 1. Must not be a current SANBS supplier. 2. Business must be at least 51% black owned. 3. Annual turnover must be less than R5 million.
