Types of Communication PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE Think of themselves first, at the expense of others ASSERTIVE Stand up for their rights without denying other people theirs Respect themselves as well as others. Ask for what they want in a straightforward manner Strong and steady voice Give in and say yes even when they don t want to Put the feelings and concerns of others before their own Keep their concerns to themselves Soft, uncertain voice Dominate others Use threats or force Loud and explosive Downcast eyes Demanding Good eye contact Nervous Cannot control temper Confident My thoughts are not important I guess, maybe Is everyone else doing it? I mean, let s just see what happens. Steven: Well, I know it isn t very romantic, and I m sorry. I was just hoping we could talk. Terah: I want to talk, too. Just not about that.
