Revelation 11:15

15
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet,
and there were loud voices in heaven,
saying, “The kingdom of the world has
become the kingdom of our Lord and of his
Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

Revelation 11:16-17a

And the twenty-four elders who sit on their
thrones before God fell on their faces and
worshiped God,
17
saying,

Revelation 11:17b-18

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
who is and who was, for you have taken your
great power and begun to reign.
18
The nations raged, but your wrath
came, and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets
and saints, and those who fear your name,
both small and great, and for destroying the
destroyers of the earth.”

Revelation 11:19

19
Then God's temple in heaven was opened,
and the ark of his covenant was seen within
his temple. There were flashes of lightning,
rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake,
and heavy hail.

Revelation 11:15

15
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet,
and there were loud voices in heaven,
saying,
“The kingdom of the world has
become the kingdom of our Lord and of his
Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

Revelation 11:16-17a

And the twenty-four elders who sit on their
thrones before God fell on their faces and
worshiped God,
17
saying,

Revelation 11:17b-18

We give thanks to you
, Lord God Almighty,
who is and who was, for you have taken your
great power and begun to reign.
18
The nations raged, but your wrath
came, and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets
and saints, and those who fear your name,
both small and great, and for destroying the
destroyers of the earth.”

Revelation 10:7

but that in the days of the trumpet call to be
sounded by the seventh angel, the
mystery
 of
God would be fulfilled, just as he announced
to his servants the prophets.”

Revelation 11:17b-18

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
who is and who was, for you have taken your
great power and begun to reign.
18
The nations raged, but your wrath
came, and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets
and saints, and those who fear your name,
both small and great, and for destroying the
destroyers of the earth.”

Revelation 11:19

19
Then God's temple in heaven was opened,
and the ark of his covenant was seen within
his temple.
There were flashes of lightning,
rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake,
and heavy hail.

Hebrews 9:11-12

11
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of
the good things that have come, then
through the greater and more perfect tent
[tabernacle] (not made with hands, that is,
not of this creation)
12
he entered once for all
into the holy places
, not by means of the
blood of goats and calves but by means of his
own blood, thus securing an eternal
redemption.

Hebrews 9:23-24

23
Thus it was necessary for the
copies
 of the
heavenly things to be purified with these rites,
but the heavenly things themselves with
better sacrifices than these.
24
For Christ has
entered, not into holy places made with
hands, which are copies of the true things, but
into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God on our behalf.

Revelation 11:19

19
Then God's temple in heaven was opened,
and the ark of his covenant was seen within
his temple.
There were flashes of lightning,
rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake,
and heavy hail.

Revelation 12:1-2

And a great sign appeared in heaven: a
woman clothed with the sun, with the moon
under her feet, and on her head a crown of
twelve stars.
She was pregnant and was
crying out in birth pains and the agony of
giving birth.

Revelation 12:3-4

And another sign appeared in heaven: behold,
a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten
horns, and on his heads seven diadems.
His
tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven
and cast them to the earth. And the dragon
stood before the woman who was about to
give birth, so that when she bore her child he
might devour it.

Revelation 12:5-6

She gave birth to a male child, one who is to
rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her
child was caught up to God and to his
throne,
and the woman fled into the
wilderness, where she has a place prepared by
God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260
days.

Revelation 12:7-9

Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his
angels fighting against the dragon. And the
dragon and his angels fought back,
but he
was defeated, and there was no longer any
place for them in heaven.
And the great
dragon was thrown down, that ancient
serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the
deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown
down to the earth, and his angels were
thrown down with him.

Revelation 12:10-11

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the salvation and the power and the
kingdom of our God and the authority of his
Christ have come, for the accuser of our
brothers has been thrown down, who accuses
them day and night before our
God. 11 And they have conquered him by the
blood of the Lamb and by the word of their
testimony, for they loved not their lives even
unto earth.

Revelation 12:12

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who
dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and
sea, for the devil has come down to you in
great wrath, because he knows that his time is
short!”

Revelation 12:13-14

13 And when the dragon saw that he had
been thrown down to the earth, he pursued
the woman who had given birth to the male
child. 14 But the woman was given the two
wings of the great eagle so that she might fly
from the serpent into the wilderness, to the
place where she is to be nourished for a time,
and times, and half a time.

Revelation 12:15-16

The serpent poured water like a river out of
his mouth after the woman, to sweep her
away with a flood. 16 But the earth came to
the help of the woman, and the earth opened
its mouth and swallowed the river that the
dragon had poured from his mouth.

Revelation 12:17

Then the dragon became furious with the
woman and went off to make war on the rest
of her offspring, on those who keep the
commandments of God and hold to the
testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand
of the sea.

Revelation 12:7-9

7

Now
war arose in heaven, Michael and his
angels fighting against the dragon. And the
dragon and his angels fought back,
but he
was defeated, and there was no longer any
place for them in heaven.
And the great
dragon was thrown down, that ancient
serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the
deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown
down to the earth, and his angels were
thrown down with him.

Job 1:6-12 on Satan

Presents himself before God
He roams the earth
He accuses
He’s powerless against God’s favor
He operates under God’s limits

Ezekiel 28 on Satan

“your heart is proud”
You are no god, but Satan is wiser (has
more understanding and knowledge)
than even Daniel
Doomed to die

Ezekiel 28:12,13ab, 14

“You were the
signet of perfection
, full of
wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You
were in Eden, the garden of God; every
precious stone was your covering….On
the day that you were
created
they were
prepared. 14 You were an
anointed
guardian cherub
. I placed you; you were
on the holy mountain of God; in the
midst of the stones of fire you walked.”

Ezekiel 28:15

“You were blameless in your ways from
the day you were created, till
unrighteousness was found in you”

Ezekiel 28 on Satan

“cast…as a profane thing from the
mountain of God” (vs16)
Proud because of beauty
Used his intelligence to gain glory for
himself
Cast to the ground
Exposed to the world
Doomed to destruction

Isaiah 14:12-14

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day
Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down
to the ground, you who laid the nations
low!
13
You said in your heart, ‘I will
ascend to heaven; above the stars of God
I will set my throne on high; I will sit on
the mount of assembly in the far reaches
of the north;
14
I will ascend above the
heights of the clouds; I will make myself
like the Most High.’

Satan

Incredibly beautiful and intelligent angel
created to serve and glorify God
Desires God’s glory, power, and worship
Removed from his place
Roams the earth to oppose God among
men

Revelation 12:10-11

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the salvation and the power and the
kingdom of our God and the authority of his
Christ have come, for the
accuser
 of our
brothers has been thrown down, who

them day and night before our
God. 11 And they have conquered him by the

Romans 8

1 “There is therefore now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus”
26b “the Spirit himself intercedes for us with
groanings too deep for words”
33-44 “Who shall bring any charge against
God's elect? It is God who justifies.
34
Who is
to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who
died—more than that, who was raised—who
is at the right hand of God, who indeed is
interceding for us.”

Revelation 12:12

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who
dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and
sea, for
the devil has come down to you
in
great wrath, because he knows that his time is
short!”

Luke 8:28, 30-31

28
When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell
down before him and said with a loud voice,
“What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son
of the Most High God? I beg you, do not
torment me.” ---
30
Jesus then asked
him, “What is your name?” And he
said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered
him.
31
And they begged him not to command
them to depart into the abyss.

Genesis 6:1-2, 4

When man began to multiply on the face of
the land and daughters were born to them, 2
the sons of God
saw that the daughters of
man were attractive. And they took as their
wives any they chose….4 The Nephilim[b]
were on the earth in those days, and also
afterward, when
the sons of God came in to
the daughters of man and they bore children
to them
. These were the mighty men who
were of old, the men of renown.

Revelation 1:7

Behold, He is coming with the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who
pierced him
, and all tribes of the earth will
wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen.

Slide Note

In our passage today the 7th Trumpet judgement will be blasted.

We will see that the 7th Trumpet judgement contains 7 Bowl judgements which run through chapter 18. With these the judgements of God against Satan and sinners is complete

Don’t be so overwhelmed by the terror of these judgements to lose sight of the Judge.

He is right. He is good, loving, merciful and just. Our eyes have difficulty seeing absolutes. We not only under estimate the evil of sin, our vision of God’s holiness is limited.

If we bear in mind that God is Holy, Good, and Righteous, we will understand the seal, trumpet, and bowl judgements much better.

Let us pray.
