Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the L (Acts 9:31 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had NoRestBecause Of Saul . We read nothing of Saul until his involvement in the death of our brother Stephen (Acts 6:58) And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man s feet, whose name was Saul. (Acts 7:58 KJV) Rest- {eirene} a state of national tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten tho
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be sa But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.For he is our peace, who hath mad (Ephesians 2.13 15 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had No Rest Because Of Saul . Rest- {eirene} a state of national tranquility, exemption from the rage and havoc of war As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. (Acts 8.3 KJV) And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. (Acts 9.1 2 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had No Rest Because Of Saul . His zeal contributed to his influence I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished. (Acts 22.3 5 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had No Rest Because Of Saul . His zeal contributed to his influence Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; (Philippians 3.4 5 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had No Rest Because Of Saul . His zeal was not coincidental or accidental Saul was fully committed! He stated this was his way of life from his youth (Acts 26:4-5) Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. (Acts 26.3 5 KJV)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had No Rest Because Of Saul . His zeal was not coincidental or accidental He surrounded himself by those who shared his zeal and conviction. Straightest - {akribestatos} [exact careful]. His commitment was a learned way of life
Acts 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city Acts 23:6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had Rest From Saul . The conversion of Saul marked a transitional point for the Church (Acts 9:3-31) His conversion was not a redirecting of his zeal but a renewing of it
And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had Rest From Saul . The rest the churches shared was short lived because of Paul There was persecution from without And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. (Acts 9:23 24 KJV) (Acts 13:44-50; 14:2-7, 18-20; 16:16-24; 17:6-9)
Then Had The churches Rest The Church Had Rest From Saul . The rest the churches shared was short lived because of Paul There was turmoil from within (Acts 15) (Act 21:17-26)
