  3. Surrender- stop resisting to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority: The action of surrendering to an opponent or powerful influence Submit- accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person

To give up means that one has surrendered When one surrenders he is then taken over and possessed by something or someone more powerful than himself This is different from submitting to someone or something We must submit God (Jas 4:6-7) We must submit to civil authorities (Rom 13:1) Wives must submit to their husbands (Eph 5:22) Congregations must submit to their elders (Heb 13:17) Younger must submit the older (1 Pet 5:5) We must submit to one another (Eph 5:21)

  5. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
