Education Manager Learning and Achievement The Education Manager for Learning and Achievement has over all responsibility for the Early Years Team Don McAllister Argyll and Bute Wide Oban Education Office 01631567996 07766 991641 donald.mcallister@argyll-bute.gov.uk Education Officer Early Years The Education Officer has operational responsibility for the Early Years Team. The EOEY works with the Early Years Team to develop and implement effective processes to ensure high quality early learning and childcare provision within all registered settings. The EOEY supports ELC teams to make use of HGIOELC performance indicators and National Care Standards as part of their self- evaluation and to support continuous improvement. Early Years and Family Support Workers Our Early Years and Family Support Workers offer ELC support and guidance to all providers of early learning and childcare. They also deliver CPD training and provide advice on family learning provision within each of the localities. Principal Teachers Early Years The principal teachers remit includes supporting children who have additional needs within partner provider settings, as well as providing support and guidance on additional needs to services and families. Our principal teachers also provide support and guidance on the improvement cycle, moderation and assessment, inspection support and Girfec support and guidance to partner provider services. We have one principal teacher based in the East of Argyll and one in the West. Principal Officer Early Years The Principal Officer is responsible for the day to day management of early learning and childcare eg property and staffing issues. Our POEY also works with settings to ensure they meet all the requirements of the Care Inspectorate and SSSC. In addition to this, the POEY oversees the Commissioning process and grant process and is leading on increasing the flexibility and extent of provision in Argyll and Bute. The POEY also manages the Community Childminding Service. Early Years Helpline and NAMS The Admin Assistant covers all administrative aspects of early learning and childcare (preschool) provision, both voluntary and local authority, including the helpline, providing Nursery Application Management System (NAMS) support and maintenance. NAMS is the management information system used by all Early Learning and Childcare Providers across Argyll and Bute and is linked to Click and Go . Family Information Service, Communication and Grants Process The Childcare Information Assistant maintains the Family Information Service which provides free, impartial information to families in Argyll and Bute. She also administers third sector grants, CPD, parenting, social media and Childcare Chatter - our Early Years Newsletter.
