MITE/8U-SQUIRT/10U Parent meeting 10-9-2022
INTRODUCTIONS Hockey Director-Jason Gregoire The Hockey Director will act as the consultant on the youth hockey program and oversee direct Hockey operation of the MYHA program. The Hockey Director will act as the chairperson of the Hockey Committee that s purpose is to oversee the in-house and traveling hockey programs as specified by Minnesota Hockey rules Jason@moorheadyouthhockey.com
INTRODUCTIONS In-House Hockey Director-Sean Bertie Girls Coordinator-Kelsey Brovick Assist the Hockey Director with the following Registration and placement of coaches In-house coaches' trainings and meetings Create in-house schedule and coordinate with the scheduler Facilitate team selection for all in-house teams Organize fall, mid-year, and year-end jamborees Organize March league

FP3-JOEL FERRIE Joel-19thyear training players at MYHA Program for Squirt/10U and older player Focus on teaching kids hard work and discipline Team sessions will be in different areas throughout rink Required part of team activities-same as on ice practice

Mites- what to expect? 158 total players Players will be split into 4 separate groups- First split by age then split by similar ability groups 2 practices a week. American Development Model (ADM) Games every Sunday against all Moorhead Teams Games are combination of Cross-Ice, Half-ice and Full-Ice (6 max allowed by MN Hockey) Head Coach and Parent Coordinator will communicate with you on any team updates or changes to schedule Please do your best to get kids to the rink on time!
8U- what to expect? 2 tiers- 8U1-25 players- Team numbers 1-3 8U2 (6U)-24 players- Team numbers 4-6 Players will be split into 3 separate teams within the tiers. 2 practices a week-ADM Practices are run by a Lead Coach U1 Games are on Saturdays against a combination of Moorhead and West Fargo teams at Hoist arena in South Fargo. 8U2 games are at CHC on Sundays. Head Coach and Parent Coordinator will communicate with you on any team updates or changes to schedule Please do your best to get kids to the rink on time!
Squirt In-House Players will be split into 8 separate teams-4 teams in Tier 1 and 4 teams in Tier 2 Tier 1 is players 1 and Tier 2 is players 41-80 (approximate numbers) Similar ability 2 practices a week. Practices are run by a Lead Coach Games are on the weekends against all Moorhead Teams-combination of cross-ice, Half-ice and full-ice games Tier 1 all against Tier 1, Tier 2 plays against Tier 2 and 10U In-House Teams Head Coach and Parent Coordinator will communicate with you on any team updates or changes to schedule In-house practice and games are mandatory.
Squirt Travel 5 Squirt Travel Teams this season A Red, A Blue, B Black, B Orange, C White Teams are picked during Squirt In-House Jamboree Practice when ice time is available- often right after school Head Coaches and Lead Coaches pick the teams MUST ATTEND IN-HOUSE GAMES TO PLAY TRAVEL GAMES Each team will play in a minimum of 3 Tournaments plus regularly scheduled games. The squirt team your child makes will not determine their future in hockey!
10U In-House Players will be split into 2 separate teams as equal as possible Practice 2 times a week Practices are run by a Lead Coach Games are on the weekends against all Moorhead Teams-combination of cross-ice and full-ice games 10U In-House Teams will play games against our Tier 2 Squirts Head Coach and Parent Coordinator will communicate with you on any team updates or changes to schedule Parents do your best to get kids to the rink on time! In-House practices and games are mandatory.
10U Travel Players will be split into 2 separate teams as equal as possible 10U A and 10U B Practice when ice time is available- often right after school Head Coaches and Lead Coaches pick the teams MUST ATTEND IN-HOUSE GAMES TO PLAY TRAVEL GAMES Each team will play in a minimum of 3 Tournaments plus regularly scheduled games. The 10U team your child makes will not determine their future in hockey!
Parent meetings-post tryouts 48 hours I will only have the meeting with the parent/guardian and the player present at the meeting We will only talk about your child I won t change my mind. Teams aren t final until December 31st.
Goalies-Spud Goalie Club We need goalies. 10Us don t have any and squirts only have 4 for 5 teams. Spud Goalie Club and initiatives Mite/8U goalies Equipment Rotation
