  2. ANNOUNCEMENTS February 21st 12:50pm in the Library- University of Texas at Austin Recruitment meeting for all Juniors interested in attending UT February 22nd 9:30-10:30am in the Library- Bilingual Teacher Recruitment Presentation for 10th-12th graders.

  3. Job Interview Tips Before the Interview: 1. Do your research- Employers want to know that you are interested in the position and in the company. Having some background information about the business shows that you have done your homework, and you want the job. 2. Arrive for your interview 15 minutes early. Take into account traffic and parking. Being late to the interview could cost you the job. 3. Appearances matter- dress appropriately for the interview, usually business casual, and make sure you are clean and well-groomed.

  5. Job Interview Tips At the Interview: Although the receptionist or secretary may not be interviewing you, be respectful and courteous. The interviewer will probably ask the receptionist s opinion of you. 2. Turn off your phone- Many interviewers will not hire a person whose phones goes or if the person checks their phone during an interview. This could indicate that they will not take the position seriously and will be constantly distracted by their phone. 1. 3. Greet the interviewer with a firm, but not crushing handshake, a smile, and remember to look them in the eyes. 4. Review common questions and answers for interviews.

  6. Job Interview Tips Activity: Break up into groups of 3 with 2 people being the interviewer and 1 being the interviewee. Using 3 common questions from this list, practice being interviewed.
