Honor Roll with Distinction signifies that the
student has maintained a 95 or above in
every subject for the year.
Principals Honor Roll signifies that the
student has maintained a 90 or above
average in every subject for the year.
Honor Roll signifies that the student has
maintained an 85 or above for the year in
every subject.
 
For Each Subject Area, a Bronze medal will
be presented to the student with the 3
rd
highest average in each respective grade
level. A silver medal for the second highest
average, and a gold medal for the highest
average.
Students that excelled in Band, Physical
Education, Art, and Business and Computer
Science Classes will also be recognized.
 
The motto of the Junior Beta Club is “Let us
lead by serving others”.  This year, junior
beta members were given the opportunity to
earn service hours by helping out in the
community.  They did this by helping with
after school activities, church missions,
community and recreation events, and
countless other service activities.
Several beta members earned more than 10
hours and will receive an award for
community service.
 
In addition to the students who have
received academic awards, we would also
like to recognize some students as grade
level MVP’s.  These students work hard in the
classroom each day and are all around good
students.  They strive to do all that is asked
of them with a pleasant attitude.  We want
them to know that their hard work and
determination has not gone un-noticed.

  This is a national youth organization that offers leadership
development opportunities on a local, region, state, and national
level by emphasizing “head, heart, hands, and health.”  Students
can specialize in one or more projects during the time they spend
in the club.  By winning at the State level, students achieve
Master 4-H’er status, which is a lifetime membership and the
most prestigious award a 4-H’er can attain.  The 4-H motto is,
“To make the best better.”
Academic Bowl/Competition
: 
This competition’s purpose is to
prepare students for other academic competitions and to
challenge them in the areas of science, social studies, art, and
essay-writing.  Students competed in each grade level against
students from similarly-sized schools.
Band
:
 Members of the MCHS band were nominated for several
honor bands, including the, UGA Janfest Honor Band, District 3
Symphonic Band, and District 3 Honor Orchestra.
