Test papers To get scaled score of 100 (expected standard/pass) Reading - 28/50 (56%) Maths - 61/110 (55%). (40+35+35) Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling - 38/70 (54%) (20+50) To get higher grade scaled score of 110 + (greater depth/above) Reading 40/50 80% Maths 95/110 95% Grammar, punctuation and spelling 58/70 82%
Year 6 SATs 2022 On the week beginning May 9th 2022 Year 6 pupils will sit the following tests: Reading (1 paper) Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Test (2 papers) Mathematics (3 papers)
Reading Reading will be a single paper with questions for the pupils to complete. There will be a variety of texts with between 1500-2300 words in total. 1 hour test in total, including reading time, to complete the test. (50 marks) Variety of different question types including: *Ranking/ordering, e.g. Number the events below to show the order in which they happen in the story *Labelling, e.g. Label the text to show the title of the story *Find and copy, e.g. Find and copy one word that suggests what the weather is like in the story *Short constructed response, e.g. What does the bear eat? *Open-ended response, e.g. Look at the sentence that begins Once upon a time. How does the writer increase the tension throughout this paragraph? Explain fully, referring to the text in your answer.
Grammar, punctuation and spelling Pupils will sit a 45 minute test. Spelling test- 20 unseen words- read in context. Y5 and 6 spelling list Significant emphasis on spelling this year compared to previous years not only in their GPS test but also in their own writing.
Mathematics Maths Arithmetic test (30 minutes)- 40 marks. Reasoning paper (40 minutes) 35 marks in total. Reasoning paper (40 minutes) 35 marks in total.
Writing *All writing is assessed through teacher assessment - evidence from throughout the year. *Evidence gained from all books. *Moderators will come into school to scrutinise/verify teacher assessment judgements.
Home Home - - Learning and Easter Tutorial Support Learning and Easter Tutorial Support All pupils should complete their daily reading home-learning. All home-learning should be presented following the school s presentation and handwriting policy. Easter Tutorial 4 April to 8 April 2022 Orchid Morning session and Poppy afternoon session. Parents are able to swap sessions if they prefer. Orchid: 9:30 12:30 (first half an hour is playtime) and then 2.5 hours in small tutorial groups. Poppy: 1:00 4:00 (first half an hour is playtime) and then 2.5 hours in small tutorial groups. A letter will go out to all parents today.
POST SATS Games and treat on Thursday afternoon (13 May 2022) - children will need their PE kit. A treat will be scheduled for after Ramadan, which the children will choose and vote on.
