Key Dates for Year 9 Students and Parents - Academic Review and Options

KS 4 Options and Academic Review Day Information Key dates for Parents and Students Prepared by Mr Shimmin Head of Year 9
Introduction Students in year 9 must choose which subjects they wish to study over two years in year 10 and 11. We will help the students make their choices through our PGE programme There will be two main opportunities for parents to come into school Academic Review Day (ARD) 4thMarch and Options Evening 11th March. We can do separate meetings or phone calls as usual by appointment.

Exams and Coursework Many GCSEs have final exams sometimes with more than one paper to sit. Therefore your entire progress is assessed at the end of year 11. Some courses have coursework and an exam BTEC courses are mostly coursework but usually have one exam

Options Evening - March 11 Parents and students invited into school to speak to individual teachers about their subject options. Deadline for choices March 27th Timetables given out after TT half term Begin timetable September 2021
Academic Review Day Academic Review Day Thursday 4th March
What is it? What is it? This is when parents or carers come in to school to meet the form tutor Student arranges a time with the form tutor 10 minute meeting with the form tutor in the East Hall Student leads the discussion and presents their Learning Journey Discuss ideas around options and your most recent report Options booklet 2021 to given to parents.
