Passing Through & Beside The Well Jesus was wearied at the hottest part of the day The disciples were shopping / getting needs met This place wasn t friendly towards God s people The disciples only saw it as a place of business Jesus saw it as a harvest field Jesus MADE ROOM & MADE A DIFFERENCE
#1 BROUGHT A GIFT If you knew the gift of God [I m offering] . . . you would have asked him and he would have given you living water (4:10) For God so loved the world, He gave (3:16)
#1 BROUGHT A GIFT For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8)
Where ever you are stuck in life , a gift of life needs to happen!!!
#2 OFFERED HOPE Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again [temporary answers], but whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again (4:14) true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people. (4:23) I who speak to you am he [the savior] (4:26)
Praise be to God . . . In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus (1 Pe 1:3-4) you were redeemed from the empty [hopeless] way of life handed down to you from your forefathers . . .[and now] your hope is in God. (1 Pe 1:18-21)
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (Ro 8:24-25)
#3 LISTENED WITH GRACE (Jn 4:17) You are right in saying, I have no husband . . . What you have said is true. (Jn 3:17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world . . .
People who are personally close, obedient & thankful to God are gracious people The way you deal with another person s sin says more about what is going on in you than them
#4 LIVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 34f) My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest ? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life
