Inversion of subject and verb

It means to change the postion
of the subject and the verb .

The subject of a sentence usually appears before the
verb:
The boy ran away .
    S V Adverb
    1 2 3

  Away ran the boy .
 Adverb V S
3 2 1

If the adverb or adverbial phrase of place comes first in the
sentence , the subject and verb can be inverted .
We can invert when the subject is a noun .

Inversion in English grammar refers to the reversal of the usual word order of a subject and a verb in a sentence. This reversal often occurs when starting a sentence with an adverb or adverbial phrase of place, creating a more dramatic effect. Inversion is also seen in direct speech, where the subject and verb of the reporting phrase may be inverted after the direct speech. Remember, there is no inversion if a pronoun is used as the subject. Practice with examples provided to grasp the concept better.
