Marketing Information and Practices Tools Marketing information and practices Schools must display CRICOS Provider Name and Code National Code Standard 1 Schools cannot offer a place to an international student prior to the formal RTP process
Student Engagement Before Enrolment Student engagement before enrolment DET (IED) sets admission requirements for prospective international students and assesses all applications from overseas students for admission to a CRICOS registered Victorian government school. Schools cannot directly or indirectly offer an international student a place in their school. With the exception of the audition / interview for VCASS, schools are NOT to impose additional entry requirements on international students. International students progressing from Year 6 to Year 7 (i.e. from primary school to secondary school) are no longer required to submit a new application to be enrolled in Year 7 (neither do students enrolled in a P-9 or P-10 College). Students will be contacted by IED to arrange the transition. Students must complete at least half of the last academic year and cannot skip one year level entirely. Younger Overseas Students Younger overseas students Tools There are minimum requirements in relation to the information that ISP Student Orientation Checklist must be provided at orientation. These minimum and mandatory ISP Student Safety Card Procedure requirements are detailed in the ISP Student Orientation Checklist Schools must provide international students with a Student Safety National Code Standard 5 Card at the time of commencement of the course, i.e. Orientation. The Student Safety Card does not need to be provided in advance, the student must receive the card on their first day.

Deferring, Suspending or Cancelling Enrolments Standard 13. Deferring, suspending or cancelling enrolments Tools It is important to monitor student s commencement and take action if a student does not commence, or you are aware of a student not commencing. Non-commencement may have attendance implications. ISP Change Request Form ISP Withdrawal Form Schools must notify DET (IED) immediately when they become aware that an international student has not or cannot start on the first day of school. Where a student does not commence on the start date specified on the student s CoE, and a deferral has not been granted, DET (IED) is required to report the student in PRISMS within 14 days of the non-commencement. National Code Standard 13 Once the Student visa 500 has been granted any application for a deferral will require evidence of compassionate or compelling circumstances Students must complete the appropriate forms and attach relevant evidence when applying for a deferral, suspension or cancellation. These include: ISP Change Request Form and the ISP Withdrawal Form.
