Short note on internationalisation strategy University of Monastir (1/2) It is clear that, in addition to the fact that it is not avoidable, globalization presents many opportunities and threats. In this context, the cooperation, the experience of others, training abroad, international curricula, globally competent graduates, development of capacity, consolidated knowledge, sharing of knowledge are examples among several opportunities. But on the other hand there are many threats. We cite as examples the financial costs, the hard competition in the global job markets, the imbalance between north/south or developed/developing, the social costs, the cultural disturbance. On another side, an academic revolution has taken place in higher education in the past half century marked by transformations unprecedented in scope and diversity. Comprehending this ongoing is not an easy task and going on it alone is increasingly difficult. The internationalization of the university is the adequate answer to this complex problem. It is defined as the process of integrating an international, intercultural or global dimension into the purpose to improve the functions or delivery of higher education and scientific research.
Short note on internationalisation strategy University of Monastir (2/2) The University internationalization concerns the following themes - mobility of students and academic staff - mutual influences between higher education systems - internationalization of the content of teaching, learning, and research - institutional strategies of internationalization - knowledge transfer - cooperation supra-national dimension of higher education and competition. policies regarding the international The Internationalization can be conducted at home by curricula and academic programs, by research, by teaching and learning process. It can also be conducted abroad by the movement of people, by international projects and by mobility programs. But the best thing is that it can be conducted together by the twinning programs, by student exchanges, by joint degrees and international consortia.
