  3. Introduction: Unit Objectives By the end of this unit, the students will be able to: List the objectives and ground rules for the course Understand the makeup of the cadre and students

  4. S 443 Course Objective To prepare the student to support Incident Management as an Infrared Interpreter trainee IRIN(t). To give students resources to support an incident, or incidents, as an IRIN. Course notebook DVD contains all powerpoints and exercises

  5. Agenda Mon PM and Tues AM presentations/discussion Tues PM hardcopy exercises and start digital exercises Wed/Thur digital exercises and presentations Fri digital final, 4 hrs plus time for grading

  6. Cadre Introductions

  7. Student Introductions Name Home unit Relevant experience Fire and/or GIS

  8. Administrative Details Restrooms Class Schedule Lunch, Breaks Restaurant Options

  9. Ground Rules This course is a mix of lectures, demos, and exercises Cooperative learning environment Ask questions as we go We all have different levels of experience and learning styles The tools we use for the job are always changing

  10. Ground Rules cont Take side conversations outside Cell phones on mute When the instructor is lecturing or conducting a demo, your computer screen is turned off Frequent breaks Comments/Evaluations are important!!
