  1. Rotary Club Rotary Club of of Cranbrook Sunrise Cranbrook Sunrise A brief history 1997-2020

  2. The beginning Rotary started with the vision of one man Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on 23 February 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Over time, Rotary's reach and vision gradually extended to humanitarian service.

  3. Rotary Comes to Cranbrook Rotary Comes to Cranbrook 1922 Cranbrook Rotary Club Chartered 22 members Rotary Park was their first project 1996 the club had grown to 70 to 80 members

  4. Movers and Shakers Jim Chiu George Watson 96/97 President, Cranbrook Rotary The eighty-seventh Annual Convention of Rotary International was held in Calgary, Alberta, on 23 to 26 June 1996. The Saddledome, constructed for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, was the focal point for the historic international gathering. With an attendance of 24,963 Rotarians and guests from 126 countries and geographical areas, this was the largest Rotary International Convention ever staged in North America.   5. The 2 Amigos Hardy and Colin were the driving forces during the formation of Cranbrook Sunrise. Those of us who were Charter members can thank them for our introduction to Rotary and what it stands for.

  6. Hardy and District Governor Bill Hiatt During the June 1997 Charter Night festivities at Ft. Steele, DG Hiatt presented Hardy with our official Club Charter, making us (all 20 of us) an official club.

  7. Jim Chiu and Hardy Jim was a strong supporter of Cranbrook Sunrise and a frequent visitor at our Tuesday AM meetings. During Jim s year as District Governor, members of Sunrise Rotary were very involved in supporting District activities and programs.

And now 24 years later 42 members 39 active, 3 honourary A club that is active in all areas Community, International, Youth, Polio, Foundation Many members who have been active at the District level A member who served as District Governor A club that has added events to enrich our community as well as a park, the fieldhouse at Moir Park, and the Alco Engine display near the Railway Museum
